Why is shadow work essential to opening to higher guidance?
When you awaken, what is truly happening is that the intellectual mind is being deemphasized so it becomes subordinate to intuition — not the other way around. This doesn’t make you less intelligent. Rather, it means that when a problem arises, your soul can redirect your energy to intuition before the intellectual mind launches into problem-solving and analysis. When that happens, the intellect becomes an instrument of higher guidance: it no longer solves problems only from past conditioning, but begins to operate from an understanding of universal laws and how energy functions on the earth plane.
Before you are substantially integrated, the intellectual mind has substantial clout over the personality. The problem with this is the intellectual mind is limited to what is in your known experience. In other words, when the intellectual mind is in control, it will, inevitably, recreate the past. The process of shadow work will integrate you such that your baseline is closer to your soul center making the attachments of the intellectual mind less pronounced, thus deemphasizing it as the personality’s primary control center.
One of the most common questions I get when I travel throughout the country and do psychic readings is, “How do I know if it is guidance or if it is my intellectual mind?” The honest (and sometimes unsatisfying) answer is that it can be very difficult to tell. One reliable way to build discernment between your mind’s voice and true guidance is through shadow work. Why does this help? Because shadow work trains the intellectual mind to be subordinate to intuition: it softens conditioned reactions and creates the internal space where higher guidance can be felt and recognized.
Before I bring in Seraphim, my angelic guides, who have a message about the importance of shadow work in awakening, I want to emphasize that channeled material is only, at most, about 80-85% accurate. Why is this? The output, the channeled message, is a confluence of the guide’s energy as well as the channel’s and no channel is entirely free of soul fragmentation such that they would always be 100% accurate.
To put this in perspective, a 2019 study found that medical doctors working individually were accurate an average of 62.5% of the time when making diagnoses. When working collectively in groups of nine, their accuracy rose to 85.6%. If this is an example of what the intellectual mind can achieve, then an 80–85% accuracy rate in channeling is actually a very strong outcome.
Seraphim, my angelic guides, wants to give us a message about how the process of shadow work assists us in awakening to higher guidance. Consistent with the convention of the blog, in italics is the directly channeled message as I hear it in my head verbatim.
Seraphim: Good. This is the conversation we want to have before the upcoming class on awakening. So, shadow work is important in awakening, in short, because it will activate your lightbody, such that you have access to it on demand.
The lightbody is a very powerful instrument because it holds the 5th dimensionary aspect of self. The 5th dimensionary aspect of self is not tethered to the Earth plane alone, it is always connected to the other side. When you see the channel writing this, our guidee, channel, it is made possible because of lightbody integration.
Now, this is the information you have all been awaiting. What can integrate the lightbody? Well, first, we want to be clear that you all have a lightbody, and it is always with you. What we are speaking of here is how much of it is available to you on demand, i.e., right away. That process of your lightbody holding so much light such that it is available almost all the time is brought forth through shadow work. Why is this the case? Because when you heal the shadow, you usher in light. When the body holds substantial light, it can anchor the lightbody.
The last thing we want to teach you is that there is much emphasis on the crown as the predominant receiver of channeled information. This is not wrong, however, just focusing on the crown misses the point. You must focus on the heart mind connection for even if, for example, the upper chakras are open, but the heart space cannot anchor the power of the upper chakras, then the abilities of that person will be moot. The channel can attest to this when there is more time to hear her story. For now, it is enough to know that strengthening the heart space, the heart chakra, is as important as cultivating the crown and the upper chakras.
