To be clear, the channel’s responsibility is to be the arbiter of the channel created. The questioner’s responsibility is to be the arbiter of their own truth—to communicate resonance or lack thereof. As the channel, you know it is truth because the questioner validates it. Over time, as you do more third-party readings and those readings are validated by the questioners at your table, your confidence will increase, making it easier to allow what comes through.
If, as the channel, you are not the arbiter of truth, what is your responsibility during a psychic reading? Your responsibility is to the channel being created. That is: Did you ground before the session? Did you wrap up active soul fragmentations? Did you set the intention to be as clear a channel as you can be? Did you ask the being you are seeing, hearing, or feeling if they are light?
Your responsibility is the creation of the channel itself—which is, in essence, creating a space of neutrality within oneself and then allowing what comes through to come through. The more neutral and soul-centered you can be, the more accurate your channeling will be. That neutrality is generally cultivated through shadow work, and that’s why we never truly speak of channeling and shadow work as independent of one another. As the channel, what you are really doing is taking the time to arrive at that neutral, soul-centered space and then allowing what comes through to come through for the highest good of the questioner.

A Message from the Guides
Seraphim, my angelic guides, have a message for us about channeling. Consistent with the convention of our blog, in italics is the directly channeled message as I hear it in my head, verbatim.
Seraphim: This is a good place to start for many beginner channelers are concerned about their accuracy, but that accuracy cannot be garnered solely by the channel themselves without input from the questioner. Do you understand this? What we want to speak to you all about at this moment is how to spot when a being is light, because that is the most important responsibility of the channel – ensuring that who is coming through is light.
Many of you fuss about knowing the names of who is coming through and as guides, we do appreciate you wanting to know us, however, we want to emphasize that the name of the guide is the least important aspect of the psychic reading. More important than getting a name is ensuring that whomever is coming through is light, and you can do that simply by asking the being coming through if they are light. When asked this question, the being coming through must be truthful, and they must answer. This is by universal law. So, if we can call what we are speaking of channeling hygiene, the number one rule of channeling hygiene is to ensure that the being you’re discoursing with is light. At this moment in time, especially for beginners, we do not recommend you communicate with beings that are not light without further training for it is important to develop good channeling hygiene habits and this is probably the most important habit to have.
Now, we want to discuss how you can tell and how you can be assured that the information from the being you are communicating with is light. First, as the channel has pointed out, channels are most accurate when the channel, both the human and the energetic form of the channel, is neutral. You know it is neutral because underneath what is being channeled, there is a feeling of groundedness that comes through. It is this feeling of groundedness and neutrality that you are truly practicing when you have sessions such as the one that will commence in a few days. So, to become good channels, it is to acclimate yourself to how this groundedness shifts as different sorts of information come through the channel for the questioner.
Second, guides, such as us, will never usurp your free will. So, this is a bit of double-edged sword in the sense that we have to respect your free will, even if that free will is a suboptimal result compared to what you are capable of. If your line of questioning indicates that you want an outcome you have outgrown, we may probe you further to ask you why you want what you want and try to steer you to the idea that there is something grander for you in the greater scheme of things, but, and this is our main point, WE WILL NEVER PUSH. So, if the being you are speaking to has a tendency to tell the questioner, whether that is a third party or the channel themselves, what their truth should be, it is to begin again and ask if they are light. Remember, we never tell you who you are, who you should be, and we never push an agenda aside from what you ask for.
Third, guides, generally, unless in rare or dire circumstances, do not push any sort of negative agenda. The most common thing we see among psychic readings is when a questioner has met an injustice, and they want to right that injustice, in their mind, by exacting justice on their own. Most guides will not validate such action. We understand your frustration, we understand the injustice, and we also understand that the questioner may believe they are helping themselves by exacting justice, however, solving a negative with another negative does not lead to ascension. It leads to more karmic justice and that is not within the mandate of guides for our mandate is to lead souls we guide to ascension. Do you understand this? Guides that are light will never induce you to a level of negativity that creates karma.
The last thing we want to extrapolate here is that guides that are of light will never make a decision for any questioner. As guides, we are often asked, what about this? What about that? What is better, this or that? We understand the energy of the ask, and we will try to guide you as to the energy you may not see and the multidimensionality of the conundrum, but we will never flatly tell you this is the better decision without some extrapolation as to why or as to what is the energy underneath all of it. There are rare circumstances where guides may be called to be more heavy-handed as to decision-making, but these are very rare circumstances where safety of the guidee is at issue. Absent such rare circumstances, guides NEVER make decisions for their guidees or questioners. We simply do what our name suggests, we only guide.
